Phân tích đề & dàn ý

Phân tích đề

  • Dạng bài: Task 2 – Agree or Disagree (To what extent do you agree or disagree?).
  • Tách ý chính của đề: Most artists earn low salaries → so → the government should fund them → so that they can continue their work.
  • Chú ý phạm vi:
  • "Most artists", không phải tất cả nghệ sĩ.
  • Đề có hai phần: lý do (thu nhập thấp) và đề xuất (chính phủ trợ cấp để họ tiếp tục làm nghề). Câu paraphrase ở mở bài phải giữ đủ cả hai.
  • Từ khoá:
  • most artists → the majority of artists
  • earn low salaries → are poorly paid / have low incomes
  • receive funding from the government → be supported financially by the state / receive state funding
  • continue with their work → carry on with their careers
  • Quan điểm chọn: Không đồng ý hoàn toàn, với 2 lý do: (1) ngân sách công nên ưu tiên dịch vụ thiết yếu, (2) trợ cấp đều đặn có thể làm nghệ sĩ giảm động lực tiếp cận khán giả.

Dàn ý

Mở bài

  • Câu 1: paraphrase đề, giữ đủ lý do + đề xuất.
  • Câu 2: nêu quan điểm không đồng ý + tóm tắt 2 lý do.

  • Lý do: thu nhập ổn định làm mất áp lực phải tiến bộ.
  • Ví dụ: một nhạc sĩ nhận trợ cấp đều đặn có thể ít muốn biểu diễn trực tiếp hay ra bài mới.
  • So sánh: nghệ sĩ sống nhờ bán vé, tài trợ doanh nghiệp, gây quỹ cộng đồng phải không ngừng cải thiện tác phẩm.

Some people argue that, because the majority of artists are poorly paid, the state ought to support them financially so that they can carry on with their careers. I completely disagree with this view because taxpayers' money has more urgent uses and artists can find other sources of income.

I disagree with the idea that artists should receive government funding because public money should go to essential services first. Since public budgets are limited, money given to artists leaves less for areas such as healthcare and education, which may weaken services that everyone relies on. For example, a local hospital may have to postpone treatment for patients if funds are redirected elsewhere. Whereas people can survive without new paintings or concerts, they cannot go without medical treatment and clean water. In short, basic needs should take priority over artistic projects when resources are scarce.

Furthermore, regular government grants may discourage artists from trying to reach wider audiences. This is because a secure income removes the pressure to improve, so artists may produce work that few people want to see or buy. For instance, a musician who receives a regular grant may feel less need to perform live or release new songs. In contrast, artists who rely on ticket sales, company sponsorship or online crowdfunding must keep improving their work, and these sources let them continue without public funds. This approach can therefore keep creativity alive without placing a burden on taxpayers.

In conclusion, I strongly disagree that artists should be supported by the state. My reason is that public money is better spent on basic needs, and artists can sustain their careers through audiences and private backing.
