Phân tích đề & dàn ý

Phân tích đề

  • Dạng bài: Task 2 – Discuss both views and give your opinion. Bắt buộc bàn cả hai quan điểm VÀ nêu rõ ý kiến cá nhân (ở mở bài, thân bài 2 và kết bài).
  • Tách hai quan điểm:
  • View 1: Increased government surveillance → is necessary → to prevent crime.
  • View 2: Increased surveillance → invades → people's privacy.
  • increased surveillance and monitoring → closer monitoring of citizens / the wider use of security cameras
  • the government → the authorities
  • prevent crime → curb crime / deter criminal acts
  • invade privacy → intrude on people's private lives / violate the right to privacy
  • Quan điểm chọn: ủng hộ View 1 (tăng giám sát), với 2 lý do: (1) răn đe tội phạm, (2) hỗ trợ điều tra.

Dàn ý

Mở bài

  • Câu 1: paraphrase CẢ HAI quan điểm, nối bằng "while".
  • Câu 2: Despite some arguments against this practice, I strongly believe that… + 2 lý do.

Thân bài 1 – Quan điểm không chọn: giám sát xâm phạm quyền riêng tư

  • Câu chủ đề: A compelling argument can be made that…

  • Câu chủ đề: In spite of…, I firmly contend that… for two main reasons.
  • Lý do 1: răn đe – nỗi sợ bị camera ghi lại khiến kẻ có ý định phạm tội chùn tay.
  • Lý do 2: hỗ trợ điều tra – đoạn phim là bằng chứng giúp cảnh sát truy vết thủ phạm.
  • Kết đoạn: Not only can…, but they also…

Kết bài

  • Thừa nhận cả hai phía có lý + khẳng định lại quan điểm và tóm tắt 2 lý do.

Mẹo: câu phản biện phải trả lời đúng lý do của phía bên kia; hai lý do ở thân bài 2 nên khác nhau rõ ràng (một lý do NGĂN tội phạm trước khi xảy ra, một lý do XỬ LÝ sau khi xảy ra).

Some people argue that closer monitoring of citizens by the government is essential to prevent crime, while others claim that it intrudes on people's privacy. Despite some arguments against this practice, I strongly believe that the wider deployment of surveillance cameras is advantageous because it fosters public safety and combats crime efficiently.

A compelling argument can be made that increased camera surveillance can violate people's privacy. When cameras are installed on every street, people's actions are constantly recorded, which may make them feel overly monitored and as if their privacy is being invaded. Nonetheless, this line of reasoning is flawed because shared areas, such as shopping malls or libraries, are not places where people reasonably expect complete privacy. Unlike private domains such as homes or private offices, public spaces are designed for collective use and are, by nature, open to observation. Therefore, installing camera systems in these areas does not inherently compromise individuals' privacy.

In spite of some privacy-related drawbacks, I firmly contend that expanding monitoring systems is essential for two main reasons. Firstly, cameras serve as an effective deterrent against criminal behaviour. The fear of being caught on camera may discourage potential criminals from taking part in unlawful activities, which can reduce offences in public areas. Additionally, surveillance can enhance police investigations. For example, video footage often provides critical evidence that helps law enforcement trace wrongdoers quickly. Thus, not only can security cameras act as a warning to would-be offenders, but they also contribute to more arrests.

In conclusion, both perspectives on government surveillance have valid points. Nevertheless, I fervently believe that increased monitoring is beneficial, as it improves public security and helps to curb crime.

It is indisputable that the role of camera security in public places has garnered widespread attention in recent years Some people argue that closer monitoring of citizens by the government is essential to prevent crime, while others claim that it intrudes on people's privacy. Despite some arguments against advanced technologies this practice, I strongly believe that the deployment of camera surveillance and monitoring wider deployment of surveillance cameras is advantageous because it fosters public safety and combats crime efficiently.

A compelling argument can be made that increased camera surveillance can violate people's privacy. Nhận xét của thầy

  • Điểm mạnh: bố cục chuẩn dạng Discuss both views (thân bài 1 nêu phía bên kia rồi phản biện, thân bài 2 khẳng định quan điểm); phản biện rất tốt, dùng so sánh nơi công cộng và nơi riêng tư để chỉ ra giới hạn của lập luận đối phương; hai lý do ở thân bài 2 không chồng chéo; ngữ pháp phần lớn chính xác.
  • Mở bài chưa nêu hai quan điểm: dạng Discuss both views cần paraphrase CẢ HAI phía ở câu đầu. Câu "the role of camera security… has garnered widespread attention" chưa cho người đọc biết hai phía tranh luận điều gì.
  • Sai phạm vi: "arguments against advanced technologies" lệch đề, vì phía bên kia phản đối việc GIÁM SÁT, không phản đối công nghệ nói chung.
  • Dùng từ sai nghĩa: "at-risk individuals" là những người dễ bị tổn thương, không phải kẻ có ý định phạm tội → "would-be offenders"; "installment" (trả góp) → "installation", và "implement the installation" không tự nhiên.
  • Lặp từ: "effectively / efficiently" xuất hiện nhiều lần; "This can suppress offenses effectively in this digital age" mơ hồ, nên nêu kết quả cụ thể (reduce offences in public areas).
  • Mức độ khẳng định: "deters potential criminals" quá chắc chắn, nên dùng "may discourage".
  • "myriad reasons" nhưng chỉ có 2 lý do → "two main reasons".
  • Câu nhiều mệnh đề V-ing nối tiếp ("making them…, suggesting that…") khó theo dõi; tách bằng "which may…".
  • Chính tả: nên thống nhất Anh – Anh (behaviour, offences) hoặc Anh – Mỹ trong cả bài.
