The diagram illustrates the process of making fabric from bamboo.
Overall, the procedure consists of nine key steps, commencing with bamboo plants being cultivated and ending with clothing items being produced. Additionally, the process involves both natural stages, such as planting and harvesting, and manufacturing stages, such as spinning and weaving.
At the initial stage, bamboo plants are grown in spring. Subsequently, the fully grown plants are manually harvested in autumn prior to being mechanically cut into thin strips with a saw. Following this step, these strips are crushed to produce liquid pulp, after which the pulp is meticulously filtered to separate the long fibres.
The process continues with the filtered fibres being softened by combining them with a solution of water and amine oxide. Once softened, the treated fibres are spun into yarn before being woven into large sheets of fabric. At the final stage, these sheets of fabric are used to manufacture various clothing items, including socks and T-shirts.
