Some people believe that History is one of the most important subjects at school, while others argue that subjects such as Science and Technology matter more in today's world. Despite some arguments in favour of History, I strongly believe that Science and Technology are more valuable because they develop essential skills and improve students' career prospects.

A compelling argument can be made that History is the most essential subject because it helps students understand how modern societies were formed. For instance, learning about ancient Greece and Rome shows students how ideas about democracy, architecture and law developed and still influence the world today. Such knowledge can help pupils appreciate how far humanity has come. Nonetheless, this line of reasoning is flawed because, in today's world, most of the challenges young people will face, from finding a job to dealing with climate change, require scientific and technical knowledge rather than knowledge of the past. Therefore, although History is valuable, its practical benefits seem secondary to those of science-based subjects.

While History has its merits, I firmly contend that Science and Technology should be given priority for two main reasons. Firstly, these subjects cultivate essential life skills. Through experiments and practical projects in laboratories, students can develop creativity and problem-solving skills, which can prepare them for a smooth transition into the working world. More importantly, these subjects can enhance students' employability. As the rapid development of technologies such as artificial intelligence creates a growing demand for engineers and computer scientists, students with a strong scientific background are more likely to find well-paid jobs after graduation. Thus, not only can science education contribute to personal growth, but it can also improve students' job prospects.

In conclusion, both perspectives on which school subjects matter most have valid points. Nevertheless, I fervently believe that Science and Technology are more important in today's world because they develop practical skills and open up better career opportunities.

A contentious debate surrounds the optimal disciplines in a school curriculum Some people believe that History is one of the most important school subjects, while others argue that Science and Technology matter more in today's world. Despite some arguments in favour of history History, I strongly believe that learning STEM subjects is more advantageous because it enhances career opportunities and individual development.

A compelling argument can be made that history History is the most essential subject at school because it helps students gain a profound insight into how the foundations of modern societies were laid. For instance, the Greeks contributed to modern Western architecture and political thought philosophy, while the Romans influenced the world's legal systems. Such knowledge enables pupils to develop a genuine appreciation of how far humanity has come and how such innovations have changed humans' lives. Nonetheless, this line of reasoning is flawed because history is less likely to contribute to technological advancements in this digital age, whereas science-based subjects are driving forces behind inventions most of the challenges young people face today, such as finding a job or dealing with climate change, require scientific and technical knowledge rather than knowledge of the past. This makes the positive impacts practical benefits of history History secondary to those of scientific areas subjects in this context.

Furthermore While History has its merits, I firmly contend that the role of science and technology disciplines should be prioritizedised for myriad two main reasons. Firstly, they cultivate essential life skills. Through scientific activities and experiments in labs, students foster can develop creativity and problem-solving skills, which equip can prepare them for a smooth transition into the professional working world later in life. More importantly, these subjects enhance employability. As the fast-paced rapid development of innovations and AI and other technologies requires a great number of highly skilled technicians and computer scientists, students who learn study sciences are more likely to secure jobs after graduation. Therefore, not only can science education contribute to personal growth, but it can also increases increase job prospects.

In conclusion, both perspectives on the best subjects to teach students have valid points. Nevertheless, I fervently believe that focusing on science and technology is superior in this digitalized world more beneficial in today's world because it develops practical skills and improves students' career prospects.

Nhận xét của thầy

  • Điểm mạnh: quan điểm rõ và nhất quán, câu thesis nêu luôn 2 lý do; thân bài 1 có ví dụ lịch sử cụ thể; hai lý do ở thân bài 2 tách bạch (kỹ năng và việc làm); kết bài đúng khung Discuss both views; ngữ pháp chính xác.
  • Mở bài chưa nêu hai quan điểm: dạng Discuss both views cần paraphrase cả hai phía ngay câu đầu ("Some people believe that…, while others argue that…").
  • Phản biện đổi tiêu chí: phía Lịch sử nói môn học giúp hiểu xã hội, còn phản biện lại nói Lịch sử không thúc đẩy công nghệ. Nên bám vào cụm "in today's world" của đề: thách thức hiện nay cần kiến thức khoa học hơn kiến thức về quá khứ.
  • Câu chủ đề thân bài 2: "Furthermore, I firmly contend…" thiếu vế nhượng bộ theo khung giáo trình → "While History has its merits, I firmly contend…"; "myriad reasons" nhưng chỉ có 2 lý do.
  • Kết bài thiếu lý do: nên tóm tắt lại 2 lý do sau "because".
  • Dùng từ: "the Greeks contributed to modern philosophy" chưa chính xác; "foster creativity" nên dùng "develop"; "prioritized", "digitalized" nên thống nhất chính tả Anh – Anh; tên môn học (History, Science) nên viết hoa nhất quán như trong đề.
