It is widely acknowledged that the number of young people committing crimes has been rising in recent years. There are a number of reasons behind this trend, and several measures should be taken to tackle it.
A range of factors are responsible for the rise in youth crime. One major reason is poverty. This is because teenagers from low-income families may not have their basic needs, such as food and clothing, fully met, so some may feel they have no choice but to steal. For instance, a teenager whose parents are unemployed may start shoplifting to buy things that his family cannot afford. Another factor that contributes to this situation is the violent content in films and video games. Such content may send young people the wrong message that using violence to solve conflicts is acceptable or even heroic, which can lead to aggressive behaviour in real life.
To tackle this problem, both governments and families should take immediate action. The first way is to support young people from poor backgrounds. This can be achieved by providing financial assistance to low-income families and offering free after-school clubs and vocational courses. This can help teenagers to gain useful skills and stay away from crime, thereby reducing the temptation to steal. Secondly, young people's exposure to violent media should be restricted. Governments can enforce stricter age ratings on films and games, while parents can use parental controls to monitor what their children watch. Compared with punishing young offenders after crimes have been committed, such preventive measures are more likely to stop youth crime from happening in the first place.
In conclusion, there are various reasons for the rise in youth crime, including poverty and violent media. By supporting disadvantaged young people and restricting their access to violent content, governments and families can reduce the number of young offenders.

- Khẳng định quá tuyệt đối: "cannot be met", "which serves as an effective deterrent", "ensure public security"; dùng "may / can".
- Diễn đạt: "One viable approach is that the government can…" gượng → "The first way is to…"; "graphic content on media" → "violent content in the media"; "the increased juvenile crime" → "the rise in juvenile crime"; "extenuating circumstances" là thuật ngữ pháp lý (tình tiết giảm nhẹ), dùng ở đây chưa chính xác.
- Kết bài chung chung: nên tóm tắt cụ thể nguyên nhân và giải pháp đã nêu; "myriad", "a multitude of" lặp lại nhiều bài, nên dùng "several / various".
- Chính tả: "offenses / programs / organizations" nên thống nhất Anh – Anh (offences, programmes, organisations).
